Never thought about potential slippage. Gave the straps a good tug and they seem pretty solid. If the straps do slip enough to give me concern I can easily replace the buckles with some slotted ladderlocs. Only field testing will tell.

I am a fan of the buckles on the XTL. Pop it off the ZXR, click in the strap and you are good to go. None of the faffing around removing and replacing straps. Provided you don’t remove the ladderlocs, the mod is fully reversible (the ZXR doesn’t have as much wiggle room on the loops to fit the rather chunky buckle in place so it is permanent).

I’ve thought about adding quick release buckles to the XTL, but never got around to it. Never considered doing the same on the horizontal compression straps.
