It was still entertaining, and worth it, even if just to prove that your kit (and you) could survive it.

Dunno about the easter weekend, though - need to look it all up - that is only a couple of weeks or so away, though. Let me know for certain, if you are up for it.

I think that Kifaru's Supertarp, Annex and small stove is superior to the Paratipi. You'll get roughly the same size of living space, it's almost almost as completetly enclosed as the tipi, and you can leave the annex at home and get the flexibility of a tarp in the warmer months.

Anyway, I wouldn't classify anything over 3lbs as a "lightweight" shelter. I can't complain at all about the paratarp and highly recommend it as a primary shelter. The only bad thing about it is that, because of the smaller size, it's not the perfect winter shelter. If you're stuck inside the shelter all day because of a storm, you can just barely sit up in the front, so you'll have to resort to lying down all day. In the larger super tarp, you'd be able to lounge around a bit more comfortably. For myself, I prefer the smaller size and lighter weight.

Here's some other popular manufactuars of light-weight shelter systems for your research. I don't have experience with them, but I've heard good things from people whose opinions I respect:
