Possibly dodgy bread
I was in the R4nger5 IRC channel today (blatant advertising: irc.freenode.net #r4nger5) when conversation turned to bread (as it does). I decided to rewatch Harlequin’s bit on breadmaking from R4nger5 TV 1 and was inspired to do some baking of my own.
Went to the kitchen and got all the stuff out. However, the flour, milk powder and yeast were all out of date. In the case of the milk powder, since November last year. Undeterred I moved on. All the main ingredients were dry powders stored in cool dry places so I figured it would be ok. Dumped all the stuff into a bowl for measuring and then into the breadmaker (yes, I cheated, sue me) along with the wet ingredients. 5 hours later, wholemeal bread.
Looks pretty good if you ask me. Sounds hollow so it is cooked. I just hope it tastes as good as it looks. Next up, banana bread.
Update: this bread + homemade plum jam = epic win.

Tomorrows blog post- “Kevin suffers from food poisoning”
Looks yummy, but I wouldn’t eat it!
I have had 5 slices with no ill effects. Tastes good.
