Books

I finished reading Carl Sagan’s “The Demon Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark” a few days ago. It was a pretty good book, will need to re-read it. As I have finished all the books in my possession and have no real desire to re-read any, I’m looking for some more to read. Cyberpunk, geeky, non-fiction and survivalist books are what I’m mainly after but I’ll look for anything that sounds good (stuff like Harry Potter and other mainstream crap is not good). Needs to be available in hard copy so I can take them to work, not going to read ebooks on my phone.

So, what do you suggest?

Do not diss the mighty Harry Potter!

If you haven’t read Stephenson’s Cryptonomicon and The Baroque Cycle, I recommend that.

I usually don’t go for ebooks either, but a while ago I finished Lights Out. Very much recommended if you can stand staring at your screen for 611 pages.

I’m currently on book 2 of the Emberverse Series, which is a decent blend of scifi, fantasy, and apocalyptic survival. Nothing great, but it’s fun.

One of my favorite books is Nelson Zink’s Structure of Delight:

I have two books on string theory by Brian Greene, if you need a headache, I’d be happy to oblige you with a loan of them:D
